Vishwaroopam 2 is an Indian spy thriller movie which is simultaneously being released in Tamil and Hindi. The movie is being written, directed and co-produced by Kamal Haasan. It is sequel to the movie Vishwaroopam / Vishwaroop and stars Kamal Haasan, Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremiah in the lead roles. The Tamil version is being dubbed in Telugu as Viswaroopam 2.
As indicated in the prequel, the film will be set in India. Kamal has earlier indicated that the second part will be laced with a strong mother-son sentiment. He stated that 40% of the film was shot during the making of part one.
Due to personal reasons, cinematographer Sanu Varghese opted out of Vishwaroopam 2. He was replaced by Malayali Shamdat Sainuddeen who did Malayalam films like director Shyamaprasad's musical Rithu and Shafi's Marykundoru Kunjadu.
The shooting of Vishwaroopam 2 started in Thailand and the team shot scenes at the Bangkok airbase. The Chennai schedule of the film started on June 13.
