Sagaa is Selly Cinemas' debut film venture. Pre-production for the film commenced in January 2015. The principal photography of the film began in EVP film city in Chennai. The film's jail sets were constructed and erected by Selley Cinemas.
The filming progressed at the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry and concluded in Karantaka and Andhra Pradhesh. The film is currently undergoing post-production and is expected to hit the big screen in July 2016.
